We expect that candidates aim to complete a long case packet in 70 minutes and a rapid reporting packet in 30 minutes.
Candidates will use the Revise Radiology website where they will get access to the written packets on a platform which simulates Practique, the platform used by the RCR for the Exam.
There are model answers available for all packets as well as pre-recorded videos with discussion of the packets.
Here's what you can expect on the course:
You will get a total of 8 viva sessions during which you will get to see a wide variety of cases.
On the Standard course, you get 8 hot seats each lasting 15 minutes and followed by 10 minutes of feedback. When you are not on the hot seat, you will be observing other candidates on the hot seat. This is a great opportunity to learn how other candidates present and observe the feedback they receive from examiners.
The viva cases are presented to candidates on Postdicom using Zoom, where the candidates will be able to scroll through the cases in real-time.
The session will run to closely simulate the actual examination experience with 15 minutes of viva presentation followed by 10 minutes of feedback.
The selected set of examiners includes experienced as well as new FRCR examiners. This means that the viva packets they use are of a similar standard to the FRCR examinations.
The viva style tutorials allow participants to challenge their diagnostic and presentation skills.
Candidates have the opportunity to be on the "hot seat," presenting directly to experienced examiners, while others observe and receive valuable feedback.
The viva style tutorials are an opportunity for observers on the course to present cases and receive feedback on their presentation style.
After a certain candidate has presented a case and received feedback as well as a score for the case, the next candidate will present the next case and so on.
This format allows you to observe multiple candidates' presentation style in a group setting while also making use of the Examiners' feedback and teaching around the case.
Those on the Premium course get a FRCR 2B Combined subscription till the exam. You can purchase the Premium Course as an option after adding the course to the cart

The South West (Bristol) FRCR Course was started in 2008 by Koshy Jacob (then a 4th year registrar) as a small project to help fund computers and books for the Registrars Room at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. We have grown steadily for the past 10 years always taking into account feedback received from delegates and consultants, both on content and design to become one of the most sought after FRCR courses in the UK.
The aim of the course right from the beginning has been to create the best FRCR course available. We have always been keen to give amazing value. We were one of the first courses in the UK to be authenticated to give examiners CPD points. We were also the first course to ensure that our examiners were giving the best value by their being assessed by an assessor to make sure their style of examining and their cases were of the highest possible quality.
It has been our aim to connect with our delegates (and in general with the Radiology Community) and, presented by a variety of consultants, we have been running webinars on teaching topics for the FRCR 2B examinations.
