Our online interactive viva-style webinars are designed for FRCR 2B, FRANZCR, and MICR Examination candidates. These sessions focus on enhancing presentation techniques and replicating course experiences, providing a competitive edge in the exams. Attendees can participate in bi-monthly sessions, observe presentations, receive feedback, and access recorded sessions for a month. Subscribers also gain entry to additional webinars covering exam-relevant topics. You also get access to 150 packets of viva cases (Over 4500 cases) as well as 100 viva short case packets each (3000 short viva), specially curated for viva practice.
The Viva sessions are interactive online webinars tailored for FRCR 2B, FRANZCR, and MICR Examination candidates. Conducted twice a month on the first and third Saturday, the sessions aim to improve presentation techniques, simulating course experiences to provide an edge in the exams. On occasions where courses are prioritized, the additional monthly Viva on the third Saturday may be moved to another suitable Saturday within the same month.
These full-day webinars include about 80 cases, allowing participants to challenge their diagnostic skills. Candidates have the opportunity to be in the "hot seat," presenting directly to experienced examiners, while others observe and receive valuable feedback.Recorded sessions are accessible for a month, enabling flexible review options. Candidates can attend any four consecutive sessions out of the six available.

To pass the viva section of the exam requires a lot of hot seat practice. The purpose of these study groups is to help facilitate this and is one of the highlights of this course.
Our programme offers over 150 viva packets (over 4500 cases) as well as 100 viva short case packets each (3000 short viva), specially curated for viva practice. Each set comprises carefully selected cases to challenge candidates' diagnostic abilities and prepare them effectively for their examinations. With a diverse range of cases, participants gain valuable experience and confidence in their radiological interpretations, ensuring they are well-prepared to excel in their viva examinations.
We encourage candidates to get together and run their own study groups using our viva packets as they have been collated in a way to provide the type of cases they could encounter in the exam.
You can take turns being examiner and candidate. There are 14 cases in each packet
For a group of two candidates, a structure with extended presentation time and focused feedback would look like this:
Session Structure for 2 Candidates
- Preparation Time (30 minutes):Both candidates spend 30 minutes preparing 6-7 cases, reviewing key findings, differentials, and management points. They can each plan out how they’ll approach the cases, focusing on efficient presentation and diagnostic reasoning.
- Extended Case Presentation & Feedback (20 minutes per round):
- Viva Session (15 minutes):The first candidate presents their 6-7 cases in sequence, while the second candidate acts as the examiner, asking questions and guiding the discussion.Feedback Session (5 minutes):The examiner provides overall feedback on the candidate’s performance, covering diagnostic accuracy, presentation style, and key learning points
- Role Swap (immediately after feedback):After the feedback, the roles switch. The second candidate, now prepared with their own cases, presents for 15 minutes, followed by 5 minutes of feedback from the first candidate.
This setup allows each participant ample time to prepare and present a comprehensive set of cases, making the session both immersive and thorough:
Session Structure for 3 or more Candidates
- Initial Preparation & Role Assignment (5 minutes):Assign roles for the first case:One candidate takes the hot seat. One examiner is assigned and given 5 minutes to prepare while the candidate and observers review the structure. The remaining participants serve as observers, and one observer is chosen to be the next examiner.
- Case Presentation & Feedback (6 minutes per case):Presentation (3 minutes): The candidate presents the case, with the examiner asking questions.Feedback (3 minutes):The examiner gives focused feedback.Observers add quick, constructive feedback as well.
- Role Rotation & Ongoing Preparation:While the current candidate presents, the next examiner (chosen previously) prepares the following case. After feedback, roles rotate:A new candidate takes the hot seat. The next examiner (who’s already prepared) is ready for the upcoming case.Observers continue rotating, with one preparing to be the next examiner.
This streamlined approach maximizes practice time for all participants with minimal gaps, and works well for any group size of three or more.
The session will last in total approximately 1-1.5 hours. In total you will have seen approximately 12-14 cases and over a 6 month period will work out to over 2000 FRCR standard cases.
To ensure you get the most out of our online packets, we suggest simulating an environment similar to the FRCR testing facilities. Here are our software recommendations for optimal performance:
- A PC or Mac Desktop with a minimum of 8GB RAM.
- A fast and stable internet connection.
- Preferably, a monitor that's at least 21 inches.
