FRCR Part 2B

Self-paced online course

FRCR 2B Mastery course

One self-paced course for your entire 2B revision, covering both the reporting and viva exams. It covers the RCR curriculum in a set amount you can work through before your exam.

  • 750short cases
  • 180long cases
  • 960viva cases

Everything you need, nothing you don’t

Built around the RCR 2B curriculum, the course covers every area the exam can test, with dedicated cases for each. Every case includes a model answer to learn from and further reading to deepen your understanding.

You’ll get a clear, finite set of cases to work through over the five months before your exam — not an overwhelming bank to race through. Dedicated cases for short cases, long cases and the viva help you prepare for every part of the exam, alongside timed mock exams in the real exam format and clear score reporting to track your progress.

How you’ll learn

Target your weak areas

Filter cases by speciality, or to those you haven’t seen yet, and put your time where your gaps are. Anything you miss is marked for review, ready to retake later.

Replicate exam conditions

Sit timed mock exams that match the exam’s weighting, on a simulated risr/assess interface, the same software you’ll use on the day. Afterwards, review every answer in depth. Your score is broken down by speciality and plotted across mock exams against a target pass mark.

Feedback on every case

Every case you report is marked by the AI examiner, which compares your report with the model answer and shows what you found and what you missed. You can ask the AI tutor questions about any case. Behind each case sits a model report to study in depth: the findings, the management, the key learning points, and related articles when you want to read further.

Live viva practice, almost every day

Daily Vivas are live, interactive viva sessions on Zoom, five days a week. Each one lasts an hour and a half and works through a viva mock of 12 cases. Some sessions are led by faculty and some by candidates who have sat the 2B themselves. Presenting cases regularly, out loud and under questioning, is what builds exam technique. We can also help you set up a viva study group with other Revise Radiology members, using our cases and online rooms.

Live case reviews, twice a month

Twice a month, on a Saturday, faculty run six one-hour Rapid Case Review sessions on Zoom, alternating between short cases and spotters. Faculty show each case, you type your answer in the chat, and they explain the findings, the diagnosis, the exam points and UK management. Short cases train you to recognise the key findings and communicate them clearly under exam conditions; spotters build the rapid pattern recognition and diagnostic recall the exam depends on.

Add the live course

The All-Inclusive course bundles 2B Mastery with the RR-ELR live viva course for less than buying them separately. Over three intensive days, you’ll sit six hot seats with examiners, observe other candidates presenting, and join focused viva teaching sessions. It’s also the only course with the Pass Guarantee: meet the conditions and don’t pass first time, and your next 2B Mastery course is free.

Frequently asked questions

Each course opens five months before the first day of the exam and ends the day after the exam. If you buy after your course has opened, you start straight away and have the time that’s left until your exam.

You don’t need to wait. Choose the sitting you’re aiming for. If your course has already opened and you can’t get an exam seat, or you’re ill or have serious circumstances, we move you to the next course with the days you had left, at no charge. If your course hasn’t opened yet, you can cancel for a full refund, less a 5% payment processing fee.

No. 2B Mastery has everything for your exam sitting, and it doesn’t include Core. Core is a separate library of more than 2,000 cases for learning when you don’t have an exam date. Some candidates use Core before their Mastery course starts.

The course has 80 viva mocks, covered in Daily Vivas: live sessions on Zoom, five days a week. Each session lasts an hour and a half and works through a viva mock of 12 cases. You present cases out loud and answer questions, as you will in the exam. Some sessions are led by faculty and some by candidates who have sat the 2B. We can also help you set up a viva study group with other members. Mastery doesn’t include hot seats with examiners. Those are on the RR-ELR FRCR 2B Live Course, which you can buy on its own or with Mastery in the All-Inclusive bundle.

Yes. Mastery is structured as a course with defined dates and learning outcomes, which makes it eligible for deanery study budget funding. We can provide an invoice and course description formatted for your claim; check your deanery’s process and deadlines with its administrator.

There are several ways to pay less. Global Pricing takes 5% to 25% off, depending on the country you work in and whether you’re a trainee: check your rate and apply. You can pay in three instalments. You can use Revise Points you’ve earned on the platform. Through the Scholar Teaching Programme, you can cover up to half the cost of a course by teaching for us. If none of these works for you, get in touch and we’ll talk it through.

Four things. The platform mirrors the real exam software, so nothing feels unfamiliar on the day. Every case and question is written and reviewed by UK consultant radiologists, including FRCR examiners, rather than aggregated without quality control. The content comes in the format you’ll actually face: DICOM viewing, timed conditions, and the exam’s question styles. And you get a structured pathway with live teaching and AI feedback, rather than a bank of questions to organise yourself. You’re paying for accuracy, structure and faculty judgement rather than volume.

It has been replaced by 2B Mastery, which covers the same written and viva preparation as a structured course anchored to your exam date rather than a rolling monthly subscription. If you’re looking for written-only or viva-only preparation, get in touch and we’ll discuss what suits your situation.

Anything else? Get in touch and we’ll talk it through.
